The most important and most vital relationship you will ever have, is one with yourself. So, if you don’t care for yourself and if you don’t love yourself enough, how could you expect anyone else to love you back?
Everyone has days of low self-esteem. Everyone has days where they feel fat or ugly or under qualified. No one has 100% confidence in themselves everyday, that’s just a fact. But, you need to have the kind of love for yourself that is unconditional. You need to be able to make a mistake and say to yourself, “Hey, it’s ok. I’m still awesome”.
You need to be able to look at yourself in the mirror even on terrible days and still love yourself. No matter what.
I know on some days it’s going to be extremely hard. Some days, you are going to fuck up. Badly. You are going to be mad at yourself. And at some points, you may just hate yourself. But you need to be able to always get back to that place where you can forgive yourself. And where you can accept yourself for what you have done and all that you are.
Before you fall in love and before you settle down with anyone,
you need to have self love. You need to be a whole person by yourself. You need to be able to stand on your own two feet without falling. You have to be proud of you who are. You have to love all of your flaws and all of your imperfections.
You need to love yourself when no one else can. Because on some days it will truly feel like the world is against you. And you will feel utterly and miserably alone.
But you are never alone if you have care for yourself.
You are never alone when you have yourself to lean on. So, no matter who goes, who leaves, you breaks your heart, you have yourself. You have you. And sometimes, that will be all you ever need.
